About Hawkins-Upperton Family
Please sign in to see more. My name is Jacqueline Upperton and I started family history research in 1998 after my daughters asked me where their second Christian Name STANBROUGH came from. I was always told that this name had come down the line originating from a 'Lord STANBROUGH'. Research has shown this not to be the case, and although there are some distinquished titles on the tree, they are mere twigs rather than branches. The STANBROUGH family were well known millers of some repute living in Isleworth, Middlesex in the 18th/19th century. There are also connections in this respect with Syon Park, Middlesex.
The journey has taken me from workhouses, asylums and orphanages, through various conflicts, to the music hall and gentry, close relations in Australia and Canada, and has taken me through a great raft of emotions.
My HAWKINS/STANBROUGH/MacGREGOR family was joined with that of the UPPERTON/SILVESTER family (my husband's line) around 2001, and in 2012 was transferred to TribalPages from its original site. It is by no means out of the ordinary, but if anyone thinks they can help me further, or I can be of help to them, please get in touch.
